13 Then Cain said to the Lord, My punishment is [a]greater than I can bear.

14 Behold, You have driven me out this day from the face of the land, and from Your face I will be hidden; and I will be a fugitive and a vagabond and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.

15 And the Lord said to him, [b]Therefore, if anyone kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a [c]mark or sign upon Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him.
